Course Description

The UCLA Stroke Center presents its annual Brain Attack! Symposium to review the practical, clinical aspects of stroke prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The course will cover stroke risk factors, diagnostic testing, and medical and interventional therapy. The newest developments in critical care neurology, microsurgical and endovascular techniques, and innovative MR and CT techniques will be discussed.

Dr. Stephan Mayer, professor of neurology and neurological surgery at New York's Columbia University, is the Symposium's featured speaker. His presentation, "Saving the Brain in Cardiac Resuscitation: Hypothermia and the Stroke Community," will elaborate upon the important new collaboration between emergency medicine and neurology.

Target Audience

Neurologists, neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, emergency physicians, family practice physicians, internists, and other health care professionals who want to enhance their knowledge of the management of patients with cerebrovascular diseases.
